Dr. Derrick Lin Promoted to Professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery

The Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School recently celebrated the promotion of Derrick T. Lin, MD, FACS to Professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Lin is the Director of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Mass Eye and Ear. He received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine before completing his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at MEE/Harvard Medical School. He completed a research fellowship at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as a T-32 resident prior to completing an Advanced Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center under the direction of James L. Netterville, MD. In 2004, Dr. Lin joined the HMS faculty at Mass Eye and Ear and has since been named Daniel Miller Professor of Otolaryngology and Director of the Mike Toth Head and Neck Cancer Research Center.

Over the last 15 years, Dr. Lin has established himself as a world leader in the management of head and neck malignancy. He has been published in more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and has regularly secured funding for his translational work studying the molecular basis of head and neck malignancies. Boston Magazine has recognized him as a “Top Doctor” eight times, a testament to the incredibly high quality of care he provides patients with complex problems involving all areas of the head and neck and head and neck reconstruction.
