Medical Student Education

A resident studying a 3D modelAs the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School (HMS), we are dedicated to otolaryngology training at all levels, including the formative years in medical school.

Students in their third year at HMS are assigned a one-week rotation at an otolaryngology service at one of the following Boston-area hospitals: Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, or Cambridge Health Alliance. The experience offers exposure to busy clinical practices in otolaryngology.

Sub-internships

For medical students interested in a career in otolaryngology, our sub-internship offers exposure to the full range of subspecialties within otolaryngology. Sub-internships are a four-week rotation available for fourth year medical students at any of the clinical venues in our Department.
