About the Harvard Medical School Department of Otolaryngology

2023 Faculty and StaffAs the largest academic otolaryngology (ear, nose, throat, and head and neck) department in the country, we are comprised of five clinical venues: Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. With more than 150 faculty and trainees staffed at 15 locations throughout New England, our department represents all subspecialty areas of otolaryngology and head and neck cancer.

Formally established in the 1800s, our department has been built upon a rich foundation in medical education, research, and clinical care. Today, our mission is to eliminate deafness and disorders of the head and neck by improving our understanding of the pathogenesis, diagnosis, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of communication and life-threatening disorders.
