Wei Wei, MD, PhD
Wei Wei, MD, PhD, is an investigator in the Eaton-Peabody Laboratories at Mass Eye and Ear. She earned her MD and PhD in China Medical University under the mentorship of Xiulan Ma, MD, PhD. She subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship training under the guidance of Zheng-Yi Chen, DPhil, at Mass Eye and Ear and Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Wei’s research focuses on developing clinically translatable gene-based therapies for genetic hearing disorders that are currently advancing through preclinical development. She also has passion to explore adult hair cell regeneration using AAV-mediated gene delivery combined with small-molecule reprogramming approaches, as well as gene therapy and pharmacologic interventions for acquired hearing loss in large-animal models. Her long-term goal is to bridge preclinical discovery with IND-enabling studies and future clinical translation.
