Wan Du, MD, PhD
Dr. Wan Du's research focuses on developing gene therapy strategies for sensory restoration, integrating genome editing, gene replacement, and novel biocompatible delivery technologies to advance clinical translation. Her work addresses key challenges in treating both inherited and acquired sensory disorders while establishing safe, effective, and scalable therapeutic approaches. Her research spans the translational pipeline from proof-of-concept studies and preclinical validation to IND-enabling development, with the goal of facilitating the advancement of promising genetic therapies toward clinical evaluation and improving outcomes for patients with sensory disorders.
She obtained her doctorate and completed her residency training at the National Clinical Research Center. She completed postdoctoral fellowship training under the guidance of Zheng-Yi Chen, DPhil, at Mass Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School, where she further developed her expertise in translational research.
