Dr. Scharukh Jalisi is the Chief of Otolaryngology (ENT)/Head and Neck Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). His clinical interests include head and neck cancers and tumors, endocrine surgery, robotic surgery, oral cancers, skin cancers, open and endoscopic skullbase surgery, pituitary resections, acoustic tumors, and local and microvascular reconstruction of the head and neck.

Prior to joining BIDMC, Dr. Jalisi was instrumental in the development of the Boston Medical Center/Boston University head and neck cancer surgery program, which focuses on delivering care to underprivileged patients. He was also involved in the launch of the first robotic surgery program for head and neck cancer in New England. 

Dr. Jalisi has authored more than 60 original papers, case reports, and reviews in peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters and textbooks throughout his career. He is the author of three otolaryngology and robotic surgery textbooks, and a reviewer for several industry journals. He is also a past President of the Massachusetts Society of Otolaryngology and a fellow of the Triological Society.

He earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, where he also completed his surgical internship and residency in otolaryngology. He later completed his fellowship training in head and neck surgical oncology, skullbase surgery, and microvascular surgery at Vanderbilt University.
