Dr. Reddy Headshot

Pooja Devapatla Reddy, MD, grew up in Ithaca, New York and attended Cornell University, graduating summa cum laude with Distinction in Research. She then received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

During medical school, Dr. Reddy's research centered on surgical outcomes and representation in academic medicine, with studies examining inferior turbinate reduction in children with OSA, postoperative airway obstruction following palatoplasty, and network trends among women in otolaryngology. Motivated by a desire to empower patients as their own advocates, she led a team of University of Pittsburgh computer science students to develop a mobile application using daily facial scans and patient-reported outcomes to track radiation-induced lymphedema and fibrosis, bypassing traditional barriers to survivorship care. This work reflected her broader commitment to improving patient care and was recognized with the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award.

Dr. Reddy is drawn to the role of innovation and technology in improving how care is delivered and experienced by patients. She is also deeply committed to mentorship, having co-founded Ithaca SMArtS, a youth STEM pipeline program, and continued building mentorship initiatives in Pittsburgh, Boston, and Southern India throughout her training. She hopes to carry these threads forward in academic otolaryngology.
