Mass. Eye and Ear Laryngology Division Director Dr. Phillip Song is a board-certified otolaryngologic surgeon who specializes in laryngology, voice and swallowing disorders, and neurolaryngology.

Dr. Song has been an invited speaker at national and international meetings and has published several peer-reviewed papers in the field. He serves as the Curriculum Committee Chair for the Harvard Combined Residency Program and has held teaching positions at local institutions including Boston University and Emerson College. In 2015, Dr. Song was the recipient of the William Montgomery Award for Excellence in Teaching, which is presented by the graduating class of medical residents to a medical staff member who has been instrumental during their training.

He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine prior to completing his general surgery internship and otolaryngology residency at New York University School of Medicine. He then completed his fellowship in laryngology at Columbia University School of Medicine/New York Center for Voice and Swallowing Disorders.
