Dr. Lucy Xu grew up in Georgia and graduated from Amherst College with a major in neuroscience and a certificate in culture, health, and science from the Five College Consortium. After graduation, she worked as a project manager for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation programs "Finding Answers: Disparities Research for Change” and "Advancing Health Equity: Leading Care, Payment and Systems Transformation."

Dr. Xu subsequently attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine where she was selected to serve as a Pritzker Chief and graduated with honors. She was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and a recipient of the AMA Foundation Physicians of Tomorrow Award and Pritzker School of Medicine Leadership Award.

During residency, Dr. Xu completed a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety program and served as a teaching fellow for the Master of Medical Sciences in Medical Education at Harvard Medical School. Her professional interests include health equity, patient outcomes and quality improvement.
