Liliya Benchetrit, MD
Liliya Benchetrit, MD, was born in Novosibirsk, Russia, and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. She graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in Neuroscience & Behavior from Columbia University and earned her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine. She completed residency in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Boston Medical Center—during which time she received several Research Awards, including the COSM American Otologic Society Resident Research Award. Prior to her medical training, she was a professional ballet dancer for eight years, a career that brought her to the United States.
Her research focuses on pediatric hearing loss and rehabilitation, temporal bone histopathology, and outcomes in superior canal dehiscence (SCD) syndrome. Her clinical interests include hearing restoration across the lifespan, pediatric otology, neurofibromatosis type 2, vestibular schwannoma, SCD, and endoscopic and traditional skull-base otologic surgery.
