Dr. David Shaye is dual board-certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and head and neck surgery. Working at Mass. Eye and Ear, he specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head, and neck. This includes aesthetic procedures such as a facelift, blepharoplasty, or browlift. 

Dr. Shaye focuses his research on global surgery. Specific research interests include cleft lip and palate, burden of disease assessment, and mobile phone technology to improve surgical follow-up. He regularly performs surgery for children with cleft lip and palate deformities in Zimbabwe and participates in a teaching partnership with the Ministry of Health in Rwanda. He has volunteered extensively in Malawi, Bhutan, Dominica, and Guatemala. Dr. Shaye works with Doctors Without Borders, performing facial reconstruction for survivors of NOMA, a destructive facial disease that affects malnourished children, mostly in Africa.

A U.S. Department of State Fulbright Scholar, he earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed residency training in otolaryngology at the University of California at Davis and fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Minnesota.
