Dr. Blake Alkire is a general otolaryngologist at Mass Eye and Ear, Longwood, where he specializes in comprehensive adult and pediatric otolaryngology and sinus disease. He provides care to adult and pediatric patients for all ear, nose, and throat conditions. His clinical interests include chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, and hearing loss. 

Dr. Alkire's research interests include developing economic models to understand the costs and benefits of expanding surgical capacity in low- and middle-income countries. Given his interests in global health initiatives, he works closely with the Program in Global Surgery at Harvard Medical School.

He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, along with a Masters in Public Health (Global Health concentration) from the T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health. Following an internship in general surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dr. Alkire completed his residency training in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at the Mass Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School.
