Mass Eye and Ear Celebrates Second OHNS Faculty Recognition Gala

February 13, 2024

Harvard Medical School faculty from the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) at Mass Eye and Ear gathered at the Harvard Club on the evening of Friday, February 9, in celebration of Mass Eye and Ear’s second OHNS Faculty Recognition Gala.

This annual event is organized by the OHNS Education Office at Mass Eye and Ear in collaboration with senior members of the hospital’s departmental Leadership Team. Ten awards were presented to faculty members who demonstrate exceptional clinical, research and educational contributions to the field of OHNS. The majority of the awards were presented by the previous awardees, who warmly shared personal anecdotes for each faculty member being honored.

The evening was particularly special, as dozens of Mass Eye and Ear faculty came together to celebrate the achievements of their colleagues. Mark Varvares, MD, FACS, Chief of the Departments of OHNS at Mass Eye and Ear and Massachusetts General Hospital and Chair of the Department of OHNS at Harvard Medical School, hosted this year’s event.

“It’s a true pleasure to see so many faculty members, both clinicians and investigators, come together in support of one another,” said Dr. Varvares. “The Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery is filled with tremendous talent, and Mass Eye and Ear would not be the hospital it is today without the remarkable dedication from each and every physician, researcher and educator who remain steadfast in our commitment to providing the best otolaryngology care in the world.”
