Sarah Nuss, MD, originally from Wayland, Massachusetts, graduated from Duke University with degrees in biology and global Health. Prior to attending medical school, she conducted research at Boston Medical Center focused on improving healthcare accessibility and spent a year working with Partners in Health in Chiapas, Mexico.

Dr. Nuss matriculated at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she engaged in research with the Global Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) Initiative, aiming to improve the availability of high-quality, accessible and affordable OHNS care worldwide. During her medical training, she spent a year as a research collaborator with the Harvard Program in Global Surgery and Social Change and was awarded a National Institutes of Health Fogarty Global Health Training Fellowship to conduct research with Partners in Health in Rwanda aimed at improving surgical care access in district hospitals in Rwanda. Additionally, she contributed to the development of an otolaryngology curriculum for medical students at the University of Global Health Equity.

Dr. Nuss interests include global health, surgical capacity building, research equity and low-cost surgical simulation. Outside of her professional interests, she enjoys snowboarding, playing music, running and spending time with friends and family.
