Dr. Aravindakshan Parthasarathy's current work involves developing non-invasive EEG-based tests to study speech perception in populations with and without overt hearing loss. He is also conducting epidemiological studies of clinical populations experiencing age-related hearing loss and tinnitus using the Mass. Eye and Ear audiology database.

In parallel studies, he is characterizing temporal processing deficits in a rodent model of cochlear synaptopathy caused by aging and noise exposure. His overall goal is to inform diagnosis and track benefits of interventional therapies in clinical populations with hearing loss by utilizing insights obtained from animal models with similar forms of pathology.
