OHNS resident Dr. Ryan Bartholomew awarded 2022 NEOS Resident Research Grant

March 25, 2022

Dr. Ryan BartholomewRyan Bartholomew, MD, a T32 otolaryngology–head and neck surgery (OHNS) resident at Harvard Medical School, has been awarded a 2022 New England Otolaryngological Society (NEOS) Resident Research Grant.

Every year, the NEOS awards several research grants to residents at accredited OHNS training programs in New England and Albany. According to the NEOS, the grants support self-initiated research projects over a one-to-two-year period. Dr. Bartholomew will use his grant to support his research developing a lateral skull base surgical navigation system using stereoscopic surface reconstruction.

His primary mentors for this project are Eduardo Corrales, MD, and Jayender Jagadeesan, PhD, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

The NEOS grant is the second research grant awarded to Dr. Bartholomew since fall 2021. In November, he was awarded an American Hearing Research Foundation Discovery Grant for his research investigating whether magnetic stimulation can improve cochlear implant devices.
