Dr. Gregory Randolph Nominated for WIO "He For She" Award

Dr. Gregory Randolph portraitGregory W. Randolph, MD, FACS, FACE, director of the Thyroid and Parathyroid Division, was recently nominated by Women in Otolaryngology (WIO) for its inaugural He for She Award. 

The award was launched by the WIO, a section of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), to celebrate male colleagues who support and empower women otolaryngologists in achieving their professional goals. According to the WIO, the award recognizes a male otolaryngologist who demonstrates a strong commitment to mentoring, collaborating and sponsoring female otolaryngologists.  

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Randolph has prioritized equity for women across the otolaryngology–head and neck surgery (OHNS) specialty. At Mass Eye and Ear, Dr. Randolph chairs the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force for the Department of OHNS. In his roles as past president of the AAO-HNS, Endocrine Surgery Section Chief of the American Head & Neck Society and President of the International Thyroid Oncology Group, Dr. Randolph has provided women with countless leadership and career opportunities. These opportunities include the annual Young African Female Surgeon Endocrine Surgery Traveling Fellowship, which he launched three years ago.
